Tim Buren recalls all those factors that made his Wilmington College experience a special one: a small, personal college close enough to home but far enough away to enjoy a degree of independence, caring faculty that helped prepare him for a successful career, and the opportunity to make lifelong friends.

Friendships that started on WC's campus more than 25 years ago still resonate today, as does the foundation he gained for a successful career in insurance and financial services.

Considering the great impact Wilmington College had upon his life, Tim named the College as a beneficiary in his estate plans. The College will eventually receive a portion of his life insurance policy. "I'd like to help other youth attend WC—an insurance policy like this is a very inexpensive way for me to help my alma mater help others," he said.

Tim believes such a gift is within the means of nearly every WC alumnus. "Once you value the paying forward concept, you will feel internally rewarded."
