Luke ’60 and Ann ’57 Woods fondly recall their years at Wilmington College where, in a nurturing environment, they prepared for their careers, enjoyed campus life, met lifelong friends, and started together on what now has been a 60-plus year journey. Wilmington College remains close to their hearts as they are enjoying their golden years. For all WC has meant to them, Luke and Ann wish to leave their mark on the College they love after they are no longer here. They have magnanimously featured Wilmington College in their estate plan, thus ensuring their ongoing relationship with their alma mater in perpetuity.
Luke recalled, “We were sitting here one day, and I said, ‘Ann, let me run an idea by you. What do you think of setting up a scholarship for the College?’ Wilmington has always been dear to our hearts.”
Ann thought that was a great idea, so they are funding an endowed scholarship. Subsequently, they decided that, since they have no children or particularly close heirs, they would bequeath their estate to the College so future students from Hamilton, Blanchester, and elsewhere could enjoy the benefits of the Wilmington College experience.
“We did well, and Wilmington treated us well,” Luke said.
Ann added, “We believe in Wilmington College.”
